We have just enough religion to make us hate,
But not enough to make us love.
                                                      - Johnothan Swift
Religion is regarded by the common people as true,
by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.
                                                      - Seneca

With or without religion, good people will do good, and evil people will do evil.
But for good people to do evil, that takes religion.
                                                                                                - Steven Weinberg

On Gods & Powers: On Sentar, Gods exist. Gods have interests. Gods interfere. Faith is not required to overcome a paucity of proof; mortal faith is a matter of accepting that service to a god, or pantheon, or principle, as the right thing to do, as your character sees it. Characters know of the existence of many gods and many powers. Characters also know that some gods are more powerful than others. For those who care to single out a god for worship, faith helps them to select the "right" one. Faith is Power. Faith Empowers.
